Newt Gingrich recently called Obama “the most successful food stamp president in modern American history” (Newt Gingrich In Georgia). I’m not sure what exactly he meant by that (the article didn’t expand on it, or perhaps he didn’t in his speech, either) but a recent article listed the 10 states that rely the most on food stamps and most of those states would be considered Republican. So I’m not sure exactly who Newt was trying to insult more: Obama or his constitutents.
I’m just kidding — I think it’s pretty obvious where his priorities are. His plan to “eliminate the estate and capital gains taxes and lower the corporate tax rate” show he doesn’t care about the lower- or middle-class any more than today’s green-blooded politicians (R or D).
(Note to nerds: that was a comment about money and not a dig at Mr. Spock.)
