James L. Brooks, the veteran television producer who helped develop the series, said the episodes currently being worked for next year will be “vintage,” in part because of the influx of new writing blood.
I have to admit (being a huge Simpsons fan) that I thought the show peaked at season six and has been on a downward slide since then, and was pretty much reaching the end of its run the past few years. However, I noticed (watching last night’s episode) that this season has been pretty funny. Maybe not season five funny, but still worth watching. Glad the new writers seem to be turning things around…
